Delete your account and data

Most people have nothing to delete. Mr. Driver’s Ed works fully without an account, and by default your studying never leaves your device. If you never created a guardian account, I hold nothing about you at all — deleting the app is the whole of it.

1. In the app (fastest)

Open Settings & privacy → Account & sync → Delete my account. This is immediate and needs no request or waiting period. It removes your guardian account and every learner you own, including all of their synced progress.

To remove one learner but keep your account, use Delete learner on that learner in the guardian dashboard. To cut off a paired teen device without deleting anything, use Unlink device — that takes effect immediately.

Learners you merely co-oversee belong to another guardian’s household. Deleting your account removes your access to them but does not delete them; only their owner can do that.

2. Without the app installed

You do not need to reinstall anything. Email support@mrdriversed.com from the email address the account was created with and ask me to delete it. Sending from that address is how I confirm the request is yours — I will not act on a deletion request for an address I cannot verify, because doing so would let anyone delete someone else’s child’s progress.

I will action it within 30 days, and in practice far sooner. This is a one-person operation, not a support desk, so you will hear back from a person.

3. What gets deleted

Deleting your guardian account removes, permanently and with no recovery:

There is no “deactivated” state, and I have no way to hand your data back to you afterwards. Export first if you want a copy — each learner has an Export learner data button in the guardian dashboard.

4. What is not deleted, and why

Two things are unaffected, because neither is linked to you:

One honest caveat about backups. Deletion removes your records from the live database immediately. Separately, the database has continuous point-in-time backup switched on for disaster recovery, which by its nature holds a rolling snapshot of the whole table — including rows that have since been deleted — for up to 35 days, after which they age out on their own. I use that only to recover from a failure or my own mistake; it is never read to reconstruct an individual account, and nothing about you is retained for analytics, advertising, or resale, none of which this app does at all. If you need the backup window itself waived for a legal right-to-erasure request, write to me and I will handle it.

5. If you are a teen using a paired device

Your device has no account and I never asked you for a name or an email. Ask the guardian who paired it to Unlink device, or to delete the learner entirely. If that is not possible, write to support@mrdriversed.com and I will help.

See the privacy policy for the full picture of what is collected and when.
